Good luck. Bree Ashleigh: Shame he doesn't just want to help around the house anyway. Doesn't take much to mow a lawn or do odd jobs around the house. Even my 5 year old knows how to help out. He will get a shock in the real world. If you can afford to live without some of the money I would start a bank account and put some of the money away for him when he does leave or for his 21 st good luck been there they move out but always come home.
But don't tell him that bit!! Nikki Kleinhanss: Uh, I'm 22 and I still don't pay board? I help a little bit around the house but not much. It's up to the parents to charge or not. My parents want me to get ahead in life. Sam Thomas: Firstly how old is the son? And secondly if he cant be bothered to pay board tell him to move out and get his own place do his own washing and shopping etc. Then he will realise how lucky he has it at home and grateful he should be and cheaper.

But the savings on food made by young adults were perhaps less than expected. The figures assumed that the young adults would otherwise mostly be living in a rented household, with bills shared between flatmates.
