It took years to get to their ultimate romantic reunion in the movie, but even then their relationship was still complicated.
Logan is now a high-ranking Naval Intelligence Officer, absent for long stretches of time on mysterious missions while Veronica is back in Neptune working with her father at Mars Investigations. Eight episodes of exactly what we want from this relationship is the biggest red flag that the ultimate heartbreak is just around the corner.
The season 4 finale consider this your final spoiler alert! Below, EW looks back on all the best LoVe moments throughout Veronica Mars , including all of those new wonderful scenes Hulu added to their relationship timeline before oh-so-rudely snatching their love away. Prepare to swoon! The first time that Logan and Veronica showed anything other than hatred for each other happens in season 1, episode 15, when Logan hires Veronica to find his mother.
And he kisses her back! It leads to an illicit relationship full of secret bathroom hookups that are, again, totally passionate and confusing. Season 2 was pretty tough to watch for LoVe lovers, as Veronica goes back to dating Duncan Teddy Dunn — snore — and Logan regresses to bullying her again although who can forget that first moment when Logan tells Veronica he loves her in the season 2 premiere?!
That's not exactly a happy ending, but it is a reminder that LoVe is forever. Logan and Veronica's relationship starts out messy. In the aftermath of his girlfriend Lilly Kane's death, Logan turned against Veronica when her dad, Keith, publicly accused Duncan and Lilly's father of the murder.
He quickly became her bully, and even smashes up her car in the show's first episode. Near the end of Season 1, Logan hires Veronica to find his mother, who he believes faked her own death. When they discover that she really did commit suicide, he breaks down in Veronica's arms, showing that his anger was masking a whole lot of pain bubbling just below the surface. Logan comes to the rescue when Veronica finds herself in a dangerous situation.
Then she kisses him. And he kisses her back. It's their first big romantic moment, and it's a hard one to top. After that, they spend the rest of Season 1 secretly dating, complete with bathroom hookups. Duncan and Veronica rekindle their romance in Season 2 after Veronica breaks up with Logan for the first time. But Duncan and Veronica's love story gets a wrench thrown into it with the sudden death of Duncan's ex, Meg Manning.
The two dated for a while when Veronica and Duncan were apart, and Meg became pregnant. Meg had been in a coma as the only surviving passenger in the bus crash that had claimed the lives of the driver and the other seven riders. However, a blood clot caused Meg to pass away unexpectedly, and while she doesn't survive, her baby does. Despite his love for Veronica, Duncan runs off to Mexico with his daughter in order to spare her the same abusive and controlling childhood Meg experienced at the hands of her very religious parents.
Poor guy got such a raw deal. First, he was the constant target of Veronica's manipulation for police intel and then, when their relationship went legit, she cheated on him with Logan. To her credit, she ends things with Leo and completely owns up to being a jerk, but her shame isn't enough to keep her from involving Leo in her schemes. Ultimately, this gets Leo fired from the Neptune Sheriff's Department, though when Keith resumes his position as county sheriff, he rehires his deputy.
Nowadays he's a detective for the San Diego PD and still has an absolute heart of gold. Logan really wasn't kidding with that whole "years and continents" speech in Season 2. Their relationship began rather contemptuously at the start of the series as the rich son of two actors dealt with his grief over Lilly, who was his on-again, off-again girlfriend as well as V's best friend.
